antral gastric tissue

چکیده
This paper presents evidence for the existence in extracts from porcine non-antral gastric tissue of a peptide capable of causing substantial rises of plasma immunoreactive gastrin levels in a dose dependent manner and of stimulation of gastric acid and pepsin secretion. Obtained data show that the peptide is basic and that its gastrin releasing properties are at least partially resistant to atropinisation and #-receptor blockade. Antrectomy almost eliminates the rise in plasma IRGa when the peptide is administered. The possible relationship of this peptide to amphibian bombesin is discussed.

Gastric antral vascular ectasia: a problem of recognition and diagnosis.
Gastric antral vascular ectasia ('water melon stomach') is a poorly documented cause of occult upper gastrointestinal blood loss. We describe a case which emphasises the clinical and pathological difficulties that can be encountered in making this elusive diagnosis.
متن کاملCharacterization of gastric antral motility disturbances in diabetes using a scintigraphic technique.
In this study, food distribution in the stomach and gastric antral motor activity in patients with longstanding diabetes have been evaluated. With use of a standard gastric emptying test with an acquisition protocol and a refined Fourier algorithm to analyze the data, antral contractions have been characterized and gastric motility parameters were correlated to gastric retention in 20 diabetic ...
متن کاملTLR4 and TLR2 Expression in Biopsy Specimens from Antral and Corporal Stomach Zones in Helicobacter pylori Infections
Background: It is not yet known which types of Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are most effective in Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) recognition. It is also not known which gastric zones have the most prominent roles in TLR-mediated bacterial recognition. The aim of this work was to analyze the expression of TLR2 and TLR4 in biopsy specimens from H. pylori-infected patients. Methods: Thirty-eight...
متن کاملA case of gastric polyposis in antral area of stomach following prolonged proton-pump therapy
We describe the clinical scenario of a young male with history of non ulcer dyspepsia who had endoscopic evidence of gastric polyposis in antral area. The polyps disappeared four months after proton pump inhibitors were stopped. Proton pump inhibitors have been linked to gastric fundal polyposis and not antral gland polyposis. This is the first report originating from an Asian country describin...

Observations: Subsurface microstructure and microcirculation images of normal and pathologic GI tissues, including Barrett’s esophagus, esophageal varices, portal hypertensive gastropathy, gastric antral vascular ectasia, gastric lymphoma, and duodenal adenocarcinoma, were obtained from 72 individual sites in vivo. Differences in vessel diameter, distribution, density, and blood-flow velocity w...
متن کاملCXCR4-expressing Mist1+ progenitors in the gastric antrum contribute to gastric cancer development
Mist1 was recently shown to identify a discrete population of stem cells within the isthmus of the oxyntic gland within the gastric corpus. Chief cells at the base of the gastric corpus also express Mist1. The relevance of Mist1 expression as a marker of specific cell populations within the antral glands of the distal stomach, however, is unknown. Using Mist1-CreERT mice, we revealed that Mist1...
